WMK or WPB.... Hi guys! As always, thanks for all you do to keep this forum going! You're doing a great job.
Request!!?? Is it possible to make our "Handle" field protected in the profiles?? We have been experiencing a run of people making not so nice posts, then they disappear, and I suspect veryyy strongly, they just change their handle, and return under a new name.
Just trying to make an easy suggestion to maintain the integrity of the forum.
Thanks so much!

I am getting really tired of people coming into the forum, stirring up a mess, then they return under another name. It is WAY too easy to change your handle, since it is not a protected field! Please, make the "handle" a protected field, so people have to have accountability for their actions??

    Little Chef,

Changing one's handle does *not* change the user id, which is a number. It does not change. It is, however, generally not published, so, it is hard tell a new user from one that changed their handle, however the information is available.

I'd rather not block members from changing their handle if I can avoid it -- we'll have to think about how to make people "accountable" w/out preventing all from changing their handle.

Thanks for the reply WMK. How best to proceed? Is this information "available" to all of us? Or just admin?
Do you want us to just start reporting? Or is there something we can do from the user side to help keep people accountable? (that we can keep track so to speak)
In all honesty, it has drastically slowed the last week or so. Perhaps the trouble moved to another forum.
Thanks again for all you guys do! You;re doing a great job with the forum.
