Flowers for my Egg

I had to cut some irises this morning because they were bending onto the ground. Hopefully my Egg will be appreciative and produce wonderful food this holiday!

I am green with envy. We re-modeled our house and it destroyed the landscape. No shrubs nothing. The new sod will be laid this week and I have 6 bags of Iris bulbs to plant along with several other shrubs and trees.

Those irises are beautiful. I have some water irises in one of my ponds, can't wait for them to start blooming.

Talk about destruction of landscape.......take a look at these photos I just shot. These photos show you the residual damage that Hurricane Ike did to my yard this past fall. Ike took out about half of my trees if not more. My yard is nothing like it used to be and I'll be cleaning out the debris and stumps all summer.

I know that feeling well, Ivan the terrible kicked our butts and then Dennis the following year. The whole drill no power for weeks the stinch of decaying foliage and wet insulation hot and miserable. Not to mention being involved with recovery efforts along the Gulf coast for years. I lost three large Oaks during Dennis by a tornado but the winds were much higher for Ivan. The construction was much worse on the yard than both storms together. :laugh: It is amazing that these things can still pack a punch well inland. On the bright side, it looks like you are all set in the fire wood department. :laugh:
