Tonights chicken

Cooked a copycat version of Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken that my lovely wife found today. She was really craving it so she wanted to give it a try. She had it already marinated when I got home and had the home made honey mustard ready. I seared 5 boneless skinless breast direct at about 500 for a few minutes per side. Then I threw on the plate setter and grid and finished them indirect. When they hit 165 internal I covered in bacon that I had fried and mushrooms that I had browned up after the bacon was done. Smothered in cheese and let melt. Pulled and enjoyed. We are very picky and we both agreed that these were about 97% of the way to being perfect. The only thing they had different was probably a thicker breast. They were great. Beats paying 40 bucks for the meal!

Now that looks good....
What is the thinking behind not putting the bacon on with the chicken and cooking at the same time on the breast?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -
Rolling Egg,
Looking good! I don't ever eat in restaurants when I'm home. Folks don't realise that makes the egg even more affordable.

I agree. My egg has already saved me the money I spent on it. Cant beat em. Heres the link if anyone cares to try this recipe. I didnt pound mine out with a cleaver or anything. Just used the marinade and sauce recipe. They call it ranch style chicken but we compared it to another copycat Alice Springs recipe from another site and it was identical.Happy Egging!

Amen! I had my dearest friends over for dinner over the weekend. We had ribeyes and crablegs with all the mango margaritas and beer for the same amount of money I spent to take them out to dinner a month or so ago. I love my egg......and so do my friends.

Oh my goodness... Those look great! What did you use to marinate? Forgive me if this question has already been answered, they just looked sooooo good...

Does that mean the EGG pays for itself ?

That is some nice looking chicken.
