Wireless meat thermometer monitors
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting my father a meat temp monitor thingy that I can plug into the meat and monitor meat temps from inside the kitchen. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck and would like to keep it under 50$ or so. What do you guys recommend? Feel free to add website links if need be. Thanks JJohn

One thing I can tell you is that I have had a Weber one for about three years now and the last two cooks that I have done were over cooked . It worked ok until lately. I to am looking for a new one.

I have a Maverick ET-73 (I think that's the model number) and it has worked well. It takes the temp. of the meat and the smoking temp. If I don't need the smoke temp. I use it to monitor two pieces of meat.

Another vote for the Maverick ET-73. Has saved me a lot of work - especially when doing an overnight cook - just put the monitor next to the bed and check it a few times during the night.

I use the Maverick ET-73 that others have mentioned and have had excellent results.
I purchased the high meat temp probe as an accessory from Fred's fred@fredsmusicandbbq in PA.
I wrap the shield of my meat and pit temp probes in foil to help prevent ruining them. There has been complaints that they burn out when cooking at high temperatures (400+).
Hope this helps! -
I have the Maverick also. Only problem is I can't adjust the temp down. Up is no problem and I can adjust the smoker temp with ease. Anyone have a suggestion?

its just the poor logic maveric has with the buttons. theres lots they could improve on. only way to go down is to bring it all the way to the top where it starts over. its a good unit but it does have some glitches operating wise.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
