Looks great! Im getting ready to do my first butt on the egg in a couple of weeks. I finally got a large egg last weekend!

very easy cook, and really enjoy doing it, dont over cook, 1 hr per lb at most, this one was a 8 lb and took 7.5 hrs. these folks that do all niters, i dont know what they cook.

What temp do you use ? Most of mine take 1.5-2.0 hrs per lb @ 250 dome.

250 dome, with the DigiQII, i have cooked at least a dozen of the butts of dif sizes and all of them will av a little less than approx 1 hr per lb. i even cooked two 6 lbers at once and they took a little less than 6 hrs.

I agree, if I can get a butt on between 5-6am I am eating pulled pork for dinner. I guess one reason to do an all nighter would be for fresh pulled pork omelets! Which, BTW, are delicious.

I bilt fire at 7.30am put butt on at 8 am, pulled off at 3.30 and wrapped in foil, wife came home from work at 5 and we had bbq at 5.30, i did my first butt as an alniter, put it on at 10pm and stayed up with it and it was done at 4am, so no more alniters for me.
