Ross I really mean this: That has to be one of the healthest, best looking meals I have seen. The color and texture just work. My cardiologest would kiss you!! However WHERE'S THE BEEF?!
-
Dam that looks good!
Another one of the multitude of items I have on
"gonna do" list.
Please: Time and temp of the Romaine.
Thank Youaka marysvilleksegghead

I said to my wife, 'Where do you want to go for our anniversary?' She said, 'I want to go somewhere I've never been before.' I said, 'Try the kitchen.'

Did you use a caeser dressing and cheese on the romaine before grilling. I am curious how it turned out.

Yes Gene, it turned out great

Looks like a great meal Ross. I'm just wondering how this grilled romaine tastes? I love romaine cold in a salad but grilled? I guess I'll have to try it and see for myself.
-
cool. I saw the cheese first and thought it would come off when you flipped the lettuce. Then I noticed the dressing and had to look close to see if it had been grilled yet. I thought it was posted in order.

Enjoy some Gene

Try it Anne its just wonderful

I'm still puzzled by the photos. Is it grilled cheese side down, or is the dressing and cheese added afterwards?

Grilled cheese and dressing down

Anne,
I had the same thoughts as you - grilled lettuce - yuck!
But, I tried it and loved it. I use FrankC's recipe:
Split lengthwise, drizzle with EVOO, coat with parmesian (get both into the leaves), then grill hot and fast until it chars a little. We cut is bite-sized pieces, drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar and serve.
My favorite is to have unsuspecting guests, cook the meat & have it resting. Without saying anything, prepare the Romaine, then take it out and grill it. When you come back in, they have dropped their jaws - grilled lettuce? Serve it up and most will love it. :woohoo: Occasionally get one who turns their nose up. :( -
Thanks! I've added romaine to the shopping list for the weekend.
-
I guess I am confused.
How does the cheese not fall off when you put it face down on the grill?
