18lbs of ribs on my LBGE
big red 1
Posts: 3
Turned into an Egghead 2 wks ago so I decided to see what my large one could do. Got me 6 racks of baby back ribs, 3lbs each. Slow cooked them 4.5 hours in a V-rack with plate setter. Let me tell ya, they turned out so tender and juicy you could eat 'em without teeth.
I had to cut a couple down so they would fit (the one sticking out got cut down after this pic)

Some like 'em wet...

and others like 'em dry (see that nice white bone--you know you've got good ribs when the bone comes clean out)

You know your ribs. They're the best not when the meat falls off the bone, but the bone falls out of the meat. Good cooking :cheer: -

They look great.
Now I am hungry.
Jay saw your site today. That turned out quite nice. I like the Egg in the tile. Nice touch. -
I like your setup

Morning Eddie:
Thanks! Actually it isn't tile, it is stained concrete, then lines cut to look like tile. The Egg in the middle was actually the idea of my much better half. The contractor told her a lot of people have some sort of design in the middle to break up the look from just plain squares. She asked him if he could do an Egg...he looked at one and said he would try...I do believe he did a pretty good job. Having the expansion joint/drain between the old slab and new slab made it work better after I painted the white plastic.Have a GREAT day!
