I will soon be having cabinets built that will house my LBGE and a ? future
small. I went to my local retailer yesterday and he did not have a small in stock.
What I need is the outside diameter and the height from the bottom to the felt rim. That will help me get the cabinet height correct so the felt rims of both eggs are at similar levels.
It's going to be a little crowded, but I planned to allow 6 inches between the eggs and 6 inches of space between each egg and the adjacent counter. This sound about right to those of you with construction talents (I have none).
Also, will the sides of my cabinets need heat protection of some sort?
Plan to have pavers under the eggs. Do I need a sheet of stainless under the pavers like I have seen on some pics?
Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, construction is NOT one of my forte's!
Thanks. :cheer:

Thanks, Jo Jo. -
Just happened to have a tape measure close and the small was just a few steps away. Good luck building your table

Actually, JoJo I have someone adding a large screen porch to the back of my house. incorporating an outdoor fireplace into the porch. The back of my house faces west and the afternoon sun is "killing " any outdoor afternoon activities.
He is going to build cabinets on one side to include my LBGE an a future small, plus a counter with bar seating behind it.
I only have about 65-67 inches in width between the brick wall of the house and a porch brick support column. kind of a tight squeeze for the two eggs and a little counter working space. The other counter will be at a 90* angle to the column and will give me lots of adjacent working room.
Hope it turns out good. They should start working within a week or so. :woohoo: -
Sounds great, be sure to post lots of pics

One more piece of advice: you will want to put the three feet under the eggs and on top of the pavers. This allows air circulation between the egg and and the paver. If the egg is in direct contact with the paver, the paver will conduct the heat right through to the surface below. Enough heat to scorch wood!

Good advice - thanks !
