Friends who attended EF Ocala told me of a egg, bacon, sausage, cheese & Lipitor type casserole made in a D/O they said was wonderful. Going to a block party brunch this weekend and thought I'd clog my neighbor's ateries. Does anyone have the recipe?

I really think that to get the proper flavor into that dish you have to use the right dutch oven.
But I agree, that CW makes a mean breakfast casserole. -

Mountainman Breakfast
2 pounds Sausage
2 pounds Frozen Hash Brown Potatoes
8 Eggs, Beaten w/ 1/4 cup water
2 cups Cheese, grated
In a 12 inch Lodge Camp Dutch Oven over a full bed of hot coals, fry and crumble sausage. Remove cooked sausage and drain on paper towels. Using the sausage drippings in the pan, brown potatoes, and spread them evenly in the bottom of the camp oven. Place cooked sausage over potatoes. Pour eggs over sausage layer. Sprinkle top with cheese. Cook with 8 coals underneath and 16 on top for 20-25 minutes, until eggs are cooked.
This came in the booklet w/ my Lodge DO. I haven't tried it yet, but is sounds good. A little more meat than the previous post recipe. I figure that in the egg, I will probably get the dome to 350-400 (is this about right, anyone?) and cook with lid off for flavor. With the dome closed, this should provide the same heat as placing the coals on the lid. -
Come on, Pete, Cough up the "secret" recipe.

He just asked if anybody knew the recipe.. He didn't actually ask for it HAHAHAH

I left soggy weather, so it is the norm lately. The pines in S. AL had tons of standing water.
