Need ideas for some ideas for a neighborhood bbq that I am hosting this weekend. No suggestions from CharlestonDave as he is clearly levels ahead of what I am capable of doing.

Neighbors are bringing the sides and the cost was five dollars per household to cover the cost of the food. Only 2-3 of my neighbors have been over for food off the egg.

Wife and next door neighbor was thinking of a couple of spatchcocked chickens. I was thinking of a a couple of chickens, small pork butt and maybe trying a small brisket flat for an assortment. Keri Hogg Apple baked beans.

Not that big of a neighborhood, only about 15 houses of the twenty occupied.

Suggestions are welcomed!!

If it was me, I would go for quicker cooks than the butt and the brisket.

The chicken is good. Might add wings too or turkey tenders. How about pork loin, fatties, burgers, pineapple, new potatoes.

Actually, I'd go for the butt and Brisket... you can start them the night before. Get them done early the next day and FTC (foil, towel, cooler), and they'll stay HOT for another 5 hours..

During the FTC time you can do everything else (chicken, sides etc).

I like the idea of the pork butt, it can be done before the party and reheated the day of the party. Pig candy is always a crowd pleaser. A fatty can also be done well before and served cold or reheated as an appetizer.
If you keep the cooking to simple quick cooks you won't be cooking all day and will have time to visit with friends. Just my 2 cents.

I like the idea of the larger meats foiled and in the cooler then a few racks of ribs make nice eye candy with little attention to give you time to enjoy the company.

I like the idea of the larger meats foiled also. Could do a couple of chickens. Never thought about a fattie but that is a good idea.

Jupiter Jim general address is in my sig block ;)
