Another "throw together" meal

Morning All:
After all the great food yesterday it was tough trying to figure out what to eat tonight. EggHatter had 4 sweet onions she wanted me to cook, but we weren't sure what to have with it.
So started with cleaning the onions, cutting them partially through at four spots, put a pat of butter in each slice, then a spoon of beef bullion mix on top, plus a heavy sprinkle of DP Shaking the Tree. On the Egg indirect at 350 for about an hour to let everything "get happy".
Here we are after the hour, with onions falling apart swimming in butter/bullion...

We had four sausages from earlier in the week we hadn't finished yet, two were Johnsonville Sweet Italian and two were Johnsonville Irish O'Garlic. Slice them up into bite size pieces...

Added them to the onion and let cook another 15 to 20 minutes...

For a "throw together" it was pretty darn tasty.

Looks like it would go good over rice too. Not bad for throw together.

Morning Eddie:
I was thinking the same thing, but EggHatter didn't want anything else with it...and you know "what the lady wants, the lady gets (or nobody is happy)".Have a GREAT day!

Sausage and onions are just hard to beat. I feel your pain, I got one the same way. Her way or no way. She has been impressed with all my cooks this weekend so life is good.

Now that looks like a great meal here Jay, "throw together" or not.
Did you cook all 4 onions in the bowl and how much liquid.
I think I will give this a try this week.

Yum, that looks really tasty.I haven,t seen the Irish garlic sausage from Johnsonville here in socal, are they new?

Morning Kent:
All four in the same dish. No extra liquid, total of a stick of butter and four tablespoons of beef bullion mix. We do the onion thing at least once a month (and this from a guy who wouldn't touch an onion before I got the Eggs).Have a GREAT day!

Sure looks like a lot more liquid than 4 Tbs. The onions must give off some liquid.
I am going to try this sometime soon.

Morning Kent:
A stick of butter gives off quite a bit of liquid too! Plus the onions. Actually the bullion stuff is a paste, so it didn't contribute much, if any, liquid.Have a GREAT day!
