I have seen some REALLY great looking pizza and bread/bun cooks on here.I an ready to try my hand at pizza dough and bread/bun making. One problem.I have no idea where to even start.
Can anyone reccomend a site or cookbook to get me started? I'm tired of store-bought pizza crusts and those little make your own crust packets where you just add water!

bernard claytons bread book is a really easy to follow book and the recipes are made to follow using equipment you may already have, by hand, stand mixer etc. doesnt do pizza though. always cheap copies on amazonfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I agree, I was making very good pizzas but found this DVD to be well worth the $30. -RP

IMHO, the most important tool I use making bread & pizza dough is my scale. ($25 escali) It gives me repeatable results and I could see what each change did to my dough(s) until I came to my favorites, plus I can make any size batch I want very easily. Using Bakers Percentages is more accurate since different flours have different densities. (ie: a cup of one flour may weigh more than a cup of another) A great forum for pizza is www.pizzamaking.com and for bread is www.thefreshloaf.com Good Luck!
