most stainless manufacturers recommend bar keepers friend and if you dip an wine cork init , it really scrubs clean to a nice polish

I found a great product called "Carbon-Off" at a local restaurant supply store. Spray it on, let it sit, and wash it off.

I'm also a fan of Barkeeper helper. Easy to find in the grocery store. Usually in the cleaning aisle.

I beleive there was an earlier post addressing a similar issue. I think it was last week or the week before and I remember Celtic Wolf posted a suggestion I am not positive but I think it was pam on the pan before hand you could just wipe it off.

Once it’s REALLY burnt black on a SS pan…It’s tough to get off!!!
I’ve done the Bar Keepers Friend and cork method, which has most often worked. OTOH I’ve had to use an alkaline over cleaner, heat and the green Scotch Bright pad once, after my partner in crime burnt something over at the cabin…That was a bad one! It was also on a thin stainless, with all of the copper clad bottom already burned off, so I can’t lay too much blame!
