Apple over hickory for the "to win a man over ribs?" that I'm doing tomorrow?
Thanks again

Given your two choices I'd use apple wood.

I'm waiting on JLs persimmon to come in the mail. Back to the original ?, that is what I have.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you

The way to a mans heart = food :)
I would go with the apple as I have had the hickory be a little too strong. But I'm not a real smoke lover.

Thank you. I have actually never used apple, only hickory. My first.
Now, the planked potatoes on hickory. Is that going to clash in flavors on the same plate?
    Just thought of that.

    Molly,
Just dont use a lot of hickory and you should be fine.
I just read your other post about the romaine and if you have some good aged balsamic vinegar that is also great on the romaine. I use a raspberry and it is just great.

Apple has always been a favorite but every now & then I'll use a small piece of hickory to mix with the apple.

With your options use Apple. It is fantastic.

If you have cherry even better. Fruit wood is always good.

I have tried grape vine which is odd smelling when cooking but great tasting.

Jack Daniels also comes out very nice and not much like what the bag smells like.

It will be good, no matter what you use.

    Good hunting, Molly.
