After a brief bout of anxiety from thawing the steaks on the counter too long, all is well. Came across a recipe for pasta with fire roasted tomatoes.

Some of tomatoes are mashed with a fork and the rest stirred in.

Them 'maters look tasty. I saw this recipe for roasted 'maters the other day and have to try it. Granted, she makes caprese salad, but I think they would work elsewhere too.

Very similar, no basalmic vinegar...did have a little crushed red pepper. As the tomatoes start getting more flavor I can see all kinds of possibilities with the addition of other vegetables. It made for a very light refreshing sauce on the pasta.

That looks great! Can't wait to have some fresh heirlooms to try that on! Unfortunately, that will probably be August! May have to resort to store bought after all.
