Saw a fat bird under a pine...put the glass on it. Big fat Robin. Beautiful. Even better were the Cardinals ( not the teams...birds )dang all that RED. The are beautiful pecking away at the seeds...sitting in the snow.
What is the diff. oiled / regular sunflower seeds? I know the oil.. so what birds eat oiled...what eat regular. Mostly they eat what ever they are served, sorta like the dogs, Cats that diff. story. Miles out. Thawing out the medium.THE Chicken tonight.

LOL I can't answer your seed question but I do know they like the good stuff if you start feeding them that :( we always did the $$ seeds. hubby is weird about his birds LOL when I went to Bangor one day I got the wrong stuff. saved about 15.00 but they would not touch it :( spoilt suckers. a foot of snow and they were hungry but not for that. two days he drove to Bangor and bought the "goodstuff" and they ate like they had not been fed in a month. we kept one feeder out with my Junk as Neil called it and it was always full. even the frigging squirrels wanted the good stuff LOL!
  • When it comes to sunflower seeds...Either the oil seeds (black)or the regular (grayish / stripy looking)seeds will do just fine! Most often the oil seeds are sold for bird feeding and the other are hard to find around here, unless you buy right from the farm.
    No matter...Enjoy the birds!
