Did the much anticipated (at least by me) chili cook-off happen this weekend? I have been waiting to see just how badly egret whipped his mouthy and undoubtedly unworthy competitor. (Yes, I do not know either of you but I thought it would be fun to pick sides, besides, I love egret's Cow-Lickin' chili)

    Unless there is another cook-off, I hear one is planned for the FL Eggfest and the showdown is Saturday 21March inOcala FL.

    OOPS! I was thinking that the FL Eggfest was FEB 21, not March 21. I guess that egret has a whole month to perfect his victory speech.

    and the chili cook off will be the event to attend. In one corner is the indomitable egret trying realllllly hard with something called Cow Lick Chili that, I understand, contains something called the kitchen sink. :evil:

    And in the other corner is the maker of a world class red.
    No beans.
    No kitchen sink.
    No grapes
    No celery salt.
    No bacon bits.

    Just meat, onions and spices. A concoction that will leave 'the burn' all real chili devotees look for. And there will be some very special cornbread served with it by Celtic Wolf.

    As my wise old grandma once said, "Egret, when you're walking on eggs, it's not a wise idea to hop."

    I know John will give his all in Ocala but, HE'S GOIN' DOWN!

    I have no idea how anyone can compare the two. Two completely different chili recipes. Both are great. Tomatoes, no tomatoes, beans, no beans.

    The only thing is they both come with a lot of smack talk from the cooks.

    Someone needs to video this for the rest of us.

    Good Lord, somebody turn down the volume here!! In the first place, your grandma never said such a thing about egret! In the second place, throwing your lot in with that recipe-stealing (this next word is bleeped out), spells doomesday to a sorry team!
