Gasket Issue....

My gasket is gone! I burned it off cooking at high temps for a long period of time. Do I need to replace it ASAP or can I cook on it tonight with no issue? Thanks in advance.

Go ahead and cook, you'll be just fine

thanks...I think...not sure what to make of your little winking emoticon...? I'm a noob on the Egg, don't want to damage it or take a chance on ruining my meal.

Judge, don't worry about it, you really only need a gasket if you are doing a low & slow cook, & even then you can get away without one, you'll just burn more lump & you may have a little difficulty in regulating the temp, but if you are just grilling, fire it up & be happy

Well since I made the post this am, I'll take a stab at answering the Judge. The first time I used my egg, I cooked burgers and fried my gasket. I thought nothing of it other than "well maybe I'll need to get another one some time."....Have never replaced it and didn't make much of it. Enjoy the egg!!

Call the mothership and request a new gasket. You just will not believe how nice they are to deal with. Just replaced mine 2 days ago. Only problem was I had to buy a $12.00 can of Dow Super 77 to get a nickels worth required for the new gasket. I'm sure there must be something else as good.
