The BGE
The local dealer has lent me a demo medium BGE. If things work out I will purchase a large. I have searched the Archives but cannot find exactly what I am looking for. Can folks make some basic suggestions about giving the BGE a reasonable workout regarding some recipes. Also I tried it today and cannot figure out how to get it hotter than 400 degrees. Thanks, John

John,
If you want to get the egg hot, make sure you use plenty of lump. Fill it to the top of the firebox. Then make sure that the hole in the base of the firebox lines up with the vent in the bottom of the egg. Also, make sure no air holes are blocked by ash. Then, open the bottom vent all the way, take the cap off the top and you should hit 750 or higher with no problem.[p]TNW
