Smaller Grinders?

Love to eat jalapeno's covered with avocado/guacamole - the jalapeno's have a wonderful sweet taste and the heat is gone.
Does anyone use a smaller blender that will grind/mince something like jalapenos without just spinning to the outside of the blade area?
Thanks in advance, GG

I am not sure if there is anything I can think of. I just use a Magic Bullet, small, concise and easy cleanup. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus...
Just Google it.

I've got the 10 year old plus version of this. We use it so often it's almost always in the dishwasher. I used it to mince garlic all of the time. I used it to minced pickled jalapenos for a green sauce last week. I can try a fresh pepper when I get to the house.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

fieroguy,
I have that one and it is the best I've had. Got it in a combo with the full size and am really happy with both. Like Gunnar says, it's always in the dishwasher and it doesnt hurt it.

Not that I care which you choose and the magic bullet was a gift. Each chamber has its own screw-on lid, so i throw onions in one, peppers in another and so forth, hit them a few times with the engine and then just toss them in the fridge or cooler till needed. There is no need to chop and then move to another container. It works really well. It is going on 3 years and no issues. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

DrZaius,
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the magic bullet. Is it like a food proccessor?

i use a black & decker mini food chopper/processor from wallyworld under $10 and it works fabulous.

Yes it is...I've only seen it on info-mercials. I'm sure you can find it in stores now. Not knocking it, I just got mine years before the Bullet.

Yes, it presses up against the side.
Jalapeno Cream Sauce with 1/3 cup pickled jalapenos.

Gunnar, thanks for taking the time to take and post the pictures.
That Creme Sauce looks great. Did you use cream cheese?
Also, would this chop up finer, I would like to find something that would take a pepper to almost a mince state. (I think).

Thanks all for the suggestions.

GG-a wonderfully sharp knife, like the Kershway Shuns seen recently, are EGGcellent for masterfully mincing most anything worth consuming

 Thanks, but for this kind of stuff I like electricity (and my fingers).

How about a microplane? And rubber gloves. The only other choice would be the hand nut choppers.

Yes it is a mini chopper. Check it out on the web. I thought it was just another stupid TV gimmick but then my mother sent me one and it is actually pretty kickarse for its size. This is the greatest signature EVAR! -
It will mince finer if there are other ingredients in the bowl to keep it off the outside of the bowl.
Jalapeno Cream Dip
There was an article in last weeks Flavor (Food) Section of the newspaper. A lady wrote in requesting the recipe to Jalapeno Cream Dip from Chuy’s (a Texas Mexican Restaurant chain). The response is this isn’t their exact recipe, but as close as you can get. It would also go well on fish tacos.
Jalapeno Cream Dip
1/3 cup sliced pickled jalapenos (I packed them in)
1 tsp jalapeno juice
½ cup buttermilk
1 cup Hellmans Mayo (They explicitly said not low fat or Miracle Whip)
1 package Buttermilk Ranch powdered mix
½ of a bunch of cilantro no stems - chopped
Jalapenos and juice in a blender and blend fine.
Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl. Then combine in blender.
Blend until smooth.
The flavor is better the second day. I let it chill a couple of hours before we ate. I like Hellman’s and will try it with the reduced fat next time. On typical salsa I load up the chip….you don’t need much with this dip.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX -
Thank you for the recipe.

I need to go look deep in the 'old stuff I haven't looked at in a long time' closet. I might have one of those.
