Look at the difference that three, 1/8 inch cuts can make. Finally, I can breathe.
Also, if you can't find your medical thermometer, a Thermapen under the arm works great.
Disclaimer...Thermapen is not to be used either orally or rectally! :woohoo:

Nice looking cut there, may I ask what you used to cut it.
-
NOW you tell me the Thermapen can't be used rectally.
I've read many, many posts saying 'stick the thermapen in your butt' and I just assummed....

Naturally, it was an OSHA approved cut-off blade mounted on a 6 inch bench grinder without a shield. I did, however, wear appropriate eye protection. I'm dumb, but not stupid.....wait!.... that depends on who you talk to. :silly:
Regardless, You only have two of them (eyes), you know, so be careful, My Friend.
I do think this is going to be a vast improvement. Many Thanks to Semolina!

Leroy: Let's talk, sometime...at length. No, not about length!, but at length...meaning: for an extend period of time...for more than just a few minutes...etc.
Bless Poor Ol' Judy's heart. She has stars in her crown already. Please replace your Thermapen before my next visit.

I'm feeling the love....thanks.... It's a hard job but somebody has to do it. Can you imagine what it would be like if his was left on his own ????Judy

Mike, what problem did this solve? Looks like a great idea for something, but what problem brought this on? I might want to do it! Thanks
-
AHH!! Just read your post below. Got it. Sorry
-
you eat your dad's food though. ...and lord only know what he checked your temps with all those years!!! and then the food's?!!!! didn't you ever wonder why he had all those visits at the house from folks that showed up in plain black sedans with the special badges?? (i.e. child welfare services). ..you didn't really believe that those people were all your aunts and uncles did you?? just because they asked you if you were treated properly??. .. .geez ryan, get the mitt!!!!

Make sure you add a degree to whatever the Thermopen said was the "pit" temp. Normal human axillary temp is 97.6

Well, the main difference between a rectal and oral thermometer is.....wait...........the TASTE!!!!

Don't be getting civilized on us. We all know you were in the military, in a war zone no less, and you probably ate a whole bunch of stuff you didn't hesitate to chomp down on without so much as a "how do you check the temperature of this 'stuff?'"
Be aware that I 'sterilize' myself and my tools in the Chicken Spa once a month whether we need it or not. It's also a good time to calibrate the thermapen to the standard 98.6° standard temperature.
So feel free to come on down for some victuals.

I use it now for any forum I belong too.. -
I figure you gained approx. 12 square inches of effective grid space by pushing the fire ring out 1/2 inch.
If the ID of fire ring under your original configuration was 7 inches, then the original cooking area was approx. 38 inches. By pushing the grid out, the ID is now 8 inches, yeilding 50 square inches. So you increased the usable grid space by approx. 32%.
Raise the grid and use all of it, the usable grid space jumps to 71 square inches, approx. 86% increase.
All based on a 9.5 diameter grid, so somebody check my math. twww.ceramicgrillstore.com ACGP, Inc. -

DAMN! I love your mind! You're incredible! I had been thinking on just those exact tangents, but had been, once again, unable to vocalize them. You are The Man.
