A little OT: Inner Beauty Hot Sauce

I used to really like a hot sauce called Inner Beauty many years ago, when living in the northeast. A couple of months ago, I got the urge to buy some, so I did some searching on the web, and found that it's no longer sold. During that same search, I came across a recipe for making it at home.

I decided to make a double batch yesterday. I made a few changes to the recipe. I de-seeded the peppers, used twice the recommended amount of mango, and added chipotle powder instead of the chili powder. Also, to make is somewhat Q related, I smoke roasted the peppers and mango for an hour.
Going on the cooker

Coming off....

Finished product...

If you have any desire for a caribbien styly hot sauce, give this a try. I had it with my eggs this morning, and on a sandwich for lunch...really tasty!

EGC,
This is the second batch that I've made...the first was pretty mild. By switching out the chili powder for the chipotle powder, definitely increased the heat. I'd call it medium....about like a Franks or a Crystal.

Really? With all them habeneros? I wonder if roasting them also helped to tone down the heat a bit...Either way it looks like a good hot sauce and I appreciate you posting the link to the recipe and your alterations.

Inner Beauty was one of my favorite hot sauces. Unfortunately, as you found out, it's no longer made. You can still go to the East Coast Grill in Boston where they invented it and have as much as you want but not in bottled form. Click on the link below and check out their Hell Nights. I now use Rasta Fire Hot, Hot, Hot Ssuce and it's close. I like the idea of making it myself. I may have to give it a try when I have some extra habaneros on hand.
