I smoked the pork tenderloins today to make Canadian Bacon. (sorry no pics) I tried a piece and it was very good. We will have Eggs Benedict Monday night for dinner.

I had made sourdough starter last weekend and I made the bread today...Damn was that some good bread...I also made brownies for dessert...

The sourdough bread and brownies look faboulous. Haven't had any sourdough since SanFransico quite a few years ago now. May have to give it a try.

I found a good starter recipe in the Better Homes & Garden circa 1971. It was easy and I hope I can keep the starter going....

    Kim,

The bread and brownies look outstanding! I haven't done any Canadian bacon yet, but I really need to add that to the list.

    Thanks!

Hey there Kim- Everything looks wonderful! Sourdough looks awesome, as do the brownies! I have been afraid to use pyrex on the Egg. Were the brownies actually cooked on the Egg? I would love to know the temp and such! It may open new horizons for me as far as baking in the Egg. Thanks!

I have been baking SD breads for years..along with other bread products. That is one of the main reasons I have my egg. I make a lot of pizza on the egg..

My SD starter has been in the family for around 100 years. I belong to a SD group and we share starters from around the world. If you need any tips on SD making drop me an email.

    Little Chef,

Yes this was the first time I used Pyrex on the BGE and it worked fine. I cooked the brownies indirect at 350 for 45 minutes. The platesetter feet were down, 3 BGE feet then the pizza stone on the feet. I put the pyrex right on the pizza stone. I did turn the brownies about every 15 minutes. They were delicious.... B)

    Iceman,

That sounds like a great group and I bet your breads are outstanding.... :silly:

You gotta love bread done in the EGG. I’m hooked on the stuff.

Put a little butter and Cinnamon sugar on and have with morning coffee and the Egghead forum.

  • OK :)
Soooo....What's the recipe? Is it the same as a sweet sourdough starter (Amish Friendship or Herman)?
