Why are we looking at this cover? I feel like I lost 45 seconds of my life trying to figure out why you took the time to scan the image. Please help...I've lost even more time writing this.

Don't forget the time you lost looking at the scanned cover.

because she could..
Course the fact that their are a bunch of bread bakers on this forum just be a CLUE!!! -
But, this bread looks like it came from the store, or a regular oven. Are there Egg recipts in the magazine? I was looking thru my Rachel Ray magazine, but she never talks about the egg. Her magazine cover (which I could have my pastor scan) talks about cooking with Eggs...but you buy the magazine and she is talking about chiken eggs. I was really dissapointed.

OK I will take the bait!!
It is very simple, if you can cook or bake it, in one of those things we all call the oven it can be cooked or baked in an Egg. You don't need special recipes to bake on the Egg. The Egg is just a superior cooking/baking tool.
I will be looking for that issue of The Gourmet Magazine.

Julie,
Make sure you check out the Gumbo Ya Ya. I order it every time I go to Mr. B's restuarant in New Orleans. If you served a cup of gumbo ya ya as an appetizer at one of your hooker gatherings, it would be a big time hit. Thanks for posting - I'm picking this one up. -
Ruth Reichl, Editor In Chief of Gourmet is still an idiot and I don't care who thinks otherwise.
Go find copies of Gourmet from 10-20 years ago. (I have plenty in my basement.) Much different, and much better, publication, IMHO. -
Whoops guess I should have called the post something else.I usually only aim to ruffle Pete's and Cary's feathers
I was in a hurry, lots going on and just wanted to share what I thought was great issue. There are a lot of good bread recipes in this issue and most of the recipes for other things translate to the egg no problem. I used to subscribe to it but stopped years ago also. and no those are not store bought breads, have you seen some of the stuffed posted on here? puts most bakeries to shame

Thanks for the post Julie, going out to try to find it.

Just freaking gorgeous. I wanna be able to do that someday!
Cheers
Chris
