Not the kind you’re thinking. When I saw Warren’s (Unconundrum) post last week about teaching his son how to cook on the egg, & the pizza he made with the lettuce on top, it reminded me of my college days in Indiana Pennsylvania; pizza shops there made ‘Wedgies’, basically a cross between a hoagie (or cheesesteak) & a pizza. I have never seen these anywhere outside that little town & have not had one in over 20 years.

I can’t remember exactly how they made them cuz I was plastered every time I ate one. I think they baked a pizza with cheese only then cut it in half & put the hoagie stuff on one half, then put the other half cheese down on top, cut that in half again & you ate it like a sandwich. Anyway, I wanted everything hot except the salad, so I made two pizzas, one ham with sweet peppers & the other salami with hot peppers (no sauce on either). After cooking, I cut them & then threw the salad on top of one & put the other on top, cut it into pieces & served. If you are at all inclined, please try this, it is really tasty.

* I had to do this inside because I needed to do both pies at once, they needed to be 16 inchers, & its cold out there today (if I think of any more excuses I’ll edit this post):

Start with some D cups:

Pizza one:

Pizza two:

The salad: romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & Good Seasons italian dressing (doesn’t that stuff remind you of the 70's):

The assembly:

The final Wedgie:

A big batch of Shmestikals on the side, this time with Blues Hogg Honey Mustard:

* I’d like to know if Wedgies are sold anywhere else, has anyone ever had one?
