Fix the Cookbook already!

Either make it accept formatting initially or give us a stable editing option. I now have two recipes on there that are just short of illegible.

You asked us to contribute months ago, but it is less than satisfying to contribute when you know it is going to look like crap.

I've edited your recipe to make it more legible (I've tried to review all the recipes on submission). I was not aware of the issues with the recipes section when I made the request for recipes. The few I had entered looked fine. I entered them as plain simple text... with Enter key to insert line breaks. There is also an issue with single and double quotes... please use the "back-quote" (upper left hand corner of keyboard) in place of single or double quotes.

We'd prefer everyone to NOT use formatting (HTML) since it creates an inconsistent look between recipes (namely text size). It also presents issues if we want to allow the text to be resized by viewers that need it larger.

Let me know the other one you posted and I'll make sure I cleaned that one up as well.

My apologies... but I've been swamped with my day job lately, as has WMK. We do not work on, nor are we paid to maintain the forum as a full-time project... we get things taken care of catch-as-catch-can.

Thanks for your help. To help you find the issue, I did not use any formatting. In fact, to be sure there was no issue at all, I keyed the recipe into the cookbook software directly. No cut and paste whatsoever. Though it shouldn't matter, I am accessing the forum on a Mac, using Safari browser.

The other recipe is Eggcentric Pot Roast. I sent you an e-mail regarding it several weeks ago.

Sorry but I must have missed the email or did not get the normal chance to review the Pot Roast recipe. It's cleaned up now... please review and let me know about corrections.

Since I'm an admin, I had no trouble editing the recipes... obviously the cookbook is deficient in not letting the author edit the recipe. We're aware of the problem and will address a fix as time permits.

it's been said over and over. you guys need some real compensation for running this place, not token compensation.

this forum sells more eggs than the BGE website does, i'd be willing to bet.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.... from the looks of the forum census in the right sidebar, we do seem to be getting a lot of new members signing up daily. Not sure if they are all owners, but I'd say it does show there is certainly interest in the product. And I must say that the "regulars" sure provide outstanding support for the product and it's use. I also appreciate all the new recipes that have been added... I know the recipes section has some issues, and we know it needs improvement. We appreciate everyone tolerating the shortcomings for the time being.

if folks get to complaing too much for your liking, i suppose you could unplug the forum for a few days just to see whether or not they miss it!
