Lamb Steak, Acorn Squash & Parsnips

I really wanted to cook a duck today, but when I went to the store, there were none to be had, so I went to plan B and bought some lamb steaks.
These are cut from the shoulder and are pretty darn good -- especially considering the price. I dusted them with Wolfe Rub and grilled them along with some acorn squash.

I added some sauteed parsnips that I finished by braising in white wine.

Here are a couple shots of the finished product. Turned out PDG, even if I do say so myself.

Good lookin' cook! What did you use in the squash? I tried a spaghetti squash once and it turned out pretty good, thing is,I blame near needed a hack saw to cut through the thing

I put about 1 1/2 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp brown sugar and a little S&P in each half. They turn out great.

Thanks, I'll have to give that a try

Very nice. One of the draw backs living in the back waters of Arkansas is there just is no a real abundance of lamb at the local butcher or grocer. Only time I can get it is around Easter and then I think its got gold somewhere in it!! Looks like you nailed the cook time on it. Great job

Nice lookin' cook there. I'm a big fan of lamb shoulder chops as are my two teenage girls. Squash is something I haven't tried on the Egg, but you've inspired me to try it.
Parsnips on the other hand aren't something I'm ready to try. As a child, my mother tried to push them on me, and I never acquired a taste for them. I felt vindicated when as a young adult I found a scientific article that mentioned that parsnips contained trace levels (parts per billion) of a neurotoxin not dissimilar from deadly nerve gas. Of course I had to show her the article and accuse her of trying to kill me.
