Texas Got The Shaft
While Florida "slipped" into the championship game against Oklahoma, Texas will be playing against a second rate team. Let's face it, it should be an Oklahoma/Texas rematch for the MNC. Florida loses to an unranked team, them leap-frogs Texas. Doesn't make sense. Then to add insult to injury, Texas gets to play the Big Ten's version of Florida, Ohio State, another network favorite and over rated team. Shouldn't Alabama/Texas bowl match-up make more sense? the BCS is bogus.

I agree with you - the media has had a love affair with all things Tebow/UF for the past few years.
At least the Heisman voters got it right. There is no logical argument against Sam Bradford as the best player of the year. -
Couldn't agree with you more about a TX v. AL matchup. Who gives a cr@p about a Bama v. Utah matchup? No one.
-
It's only about $$$$, the BCS never, well almost never, gets it right. Play off system will probably just as screwed up. Best wishes to everyones favorite team. Mike

its what they get for losing late in the season. .. lose late and you get shafted by the BCS. .. everyone knows it, so why whine about it... until they go to an 8 or 16 team playoff, it will happen every year. ..at least one team will get shafted. .. hell, penn state is still pissed off about nixon declaring the arkansas/texas game the national championship game back in what 70? or 71? ... even though penn state was undefeated that year?? . . .
tough break. .. get over it.. .. :woohoo: :woohoo:
i do agree with one thing though, right guy won the heisman tonight. .. .
oh, and before i get piloried, i have no dog in this hunt. ..i went to the real AU (American university). ..we didn't even have a football team, so i really don't care one way or the other who plays in these travesties they call the 'national championship" games. ...i just want to see a good football game. ...and i want to see a playoff in my life time!! .. .but unfortunately 'money talks'. ... -
Unfortunately, Texas didn't play hard enough when they needed to! The Gators beat Bama squarely by 11 points, with Bama ranked #1. (Frankly, no offense, I think Texas shafted themselves!) They needed to play 60 minutes of hard football. They didn't. I'm sorry. I think the BCS has the top two teams in the nation paired for the championship. The Heisman vote went appropriately! It doesn't mean the heisman winner should be in the National Championship. I am greatly looking forward to the Championship game!
:silly: -
Suck it up dude. You lost at Tech. the best road win in the BIG 12 was OU.
Mike -
Yes.
-
p.s. Auburn got Chizik as a head coah...I think the fans in Opelika got the proverbial shaft.
-
They say every thing in Texas is bigger...Especially the WHINNING.
Seems that every Texas fan forgets they lost to Texas Tech. I would buy your argument if it were for Texas Tech getting shafted because they got no media respect. Like Stoops said, we all agreed to the same set of rules and played by them. If you don't like it change it next year.
OU also played Cincinnati who is playing in a BCS Bowl and TCU who had one or two losses.
As far as Florida. A 1 point loss plus beating the number one team in the nation qualifies them as much as anyone. -
I would disagree Fidel. Tebow played against 7 or 8 defenses in the top 50 and neither Big 12 guy played against anything in the top 50. It was too bad that Shonn Green of Iowa was overlooked. Although Iowa had four losses you can't beat his story and how he carried the team this year.
-
I think TTU was over rated in the 1st place.
-
Not true.
Oklahoma played the #2 defense and put up 35 points, the #26 defense and put up 52 points.
I agree with Shonn Green, he had a great season, but the Heisman has always been a stats award and no one had stats to compare with Bradford this year.
