    What I sent Joel was the exact same post I put up Octoberish last year.

    Which was what John Creel from BGE told me, the Rutland people told him, about the gasket material.

    Back then there were a lot of posts about the issue when I posted it.

    TNW even emailed Rutland a couple of times to get clarification. Rutland never did answer back. However, that was expected and most likely could have been a real liability issue for Rutland.

    I thought that was the 'can of worms' you were referring to above.

    I would have to do some searching but mo original post or two should still be available.

    You are correct, the issue was never resolved, confirmed or denied on the forum.

    I replaced the gaskets on my large and medium and really love the Nomex. The only issue was with the adhesive like you and others have experienced. I wish when I bought mine I could have gotten them without the adhesive. It would have saved me the time of having to put them on twice.

    Great tip for the ceramic top!!
