Smoking with Used Coffee Grinds

Seems like this is a little used technique, but it does provide a different smoke flavor; other than that of apple or hickory, etc.

Finished product with white rice. Also used DP Red Eye, coffee based BBQ dry rub.

Since these photos were taken I have done further experimentation with more chicken breasts, producing consistent smoked flavor results; both indirect and raised grid direct. Actually went to St@rbucks and got a few hours (about 3#) worth of used grinds for free. They seem to smoke more than my personal grinds.
