Good morning Eggheads and Not So Eggheads. And a special good morning to Veterans everywhere.

The second emergency of the dark period. Took care of it, along with confirming the performance of the refrigeration unit's interior illuminator. Also, took a peep at perimeter security. Nothing going on that I could visually intake with my peepers. I did notice that there had been some weather during my recharging cycle.

Then on to the communications center where I quickly discovered that my tardiness had been duly noted by Roudy, who apparently had traveled quite some distance in order to enjoy the culinary art of Outpost Korea. He generously stepped in to perform a needed Forum Check. Many thanks.

As I read other Eggents' reports I landed upon Jlockhard29's pictorial accounting of yet another masterpiece of food art. But what got my attention was his mentioning being laid off in the near future. Thus, he becomes yet another victim to the greedy actions of others. So sad. I'm sure he will not be the last one. I'm equally sure that recovery from this blight will take a long time and will require considerable cooperation and patience between those who bear the economic burden and those who will attempt to connect the recovery dots. Wish us well.

Today we also take our hearts in our hands and recognize the personal sacrifices of those who unselfishly gave of their time, and all to often their lives and limbs, to a cause much greater than themselves - protecting and defending their Country. But they didn't limit their sacrifice to just protecting their fellow citizens, they found themselves in far away lands defending the defenseless against all sorts of mayhem and madness. Their actions came at a very high price to themselves, their families and their countrymen, and produced scars that will never heal. Yet, most Veterans consider it an honor and privilege to do so, myself included.

My flag flies high this day for all to see who wish to see. I just hope they look beyond the banner and realize what it takes to be a free nation.

My sensors tell me that my energy level is quickly dropping so I shall return to the recharging station and leave matters in the hands of the 9 Members and 40 Guests who find reason to be up during this time period.

Say goodnight Leroy.
