Crabs on the Egg?

Picked up some boiled crabs today - these were select and full on meat.
Pulled the shell, mouth, lungs, and intestines and then peeled back the shell to expose the meat with a paring knife. Also craked the claws.
Made a sauce with butter, olive oil, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder, and soy sauce.
Submerged each cleaned crab in the sauce for about 30 seconds. Indirect on the Egg at 500* for about 20 minutes. Put some sauce in a squeeze bottle and gave then a squirt every five minutes. Will absolutely do this again.

Sounds and looks really good. How was the heat level. I like them hot -
Not all that hot - mo peppa next time.
Maybe I'll just use "The Chicken" sauce - I've actually been thinking of trying that but without the vinegar. -
So these were pre-cooked when you bought them?
They sure look tasty. I'd like to try something like that, but have no idea what I am doing when it comes to crab. -
Careful! Some of the species become territorial and invasive.

They were precooked. There are plenty places around here where you can get them live or cooked. I also catch em myself - I have four crab traps that I bait with fish heads from a previous trip. Drop them off on my way out and pick them up on my way in. I like boiling them myself but was lazy today.

You have to be the biggest cheerleader of my chicken sauce! -RP
