I am smoking my first brisket tommorow on the BGE.I was given a simple receipe by a Texas lady. She said to maranate the brisket in Coke. I can't get in touch with her to ask her for how long. I think she said for 24 hours. Does anyone think that is too long?

Never marinated a brisket other than pastrami.
For brisket I go dome 250° until meat internal is 200°. About 1 to 1.5 hrs per pound. I cook to temp not time.
The above link is an excellent place to look.

Try this for brisket. It is a good start.
http://www.purplesmoke.com/ I have never brought by brisket up that high for the internal but he does make sense. It is worth a try. Also check out mt site under cooks for a little bit more info. Enjoy the journey!
