Chocolate-nut Scones - Good Morning
Zippylip
Posts: 4,768
I awoke to a dreary, rainy, coldish morning, so these sounded real good to come back inside to after the morning walk.
2.5 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 pinch of salt
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 stick of butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup of half & half
1 pile of chocolate chips
1 pile of nuts
cinnamon to taste
* combine dry ingredients, cut in butter, stir in eggs & half/half until moist, do not over mix, some dry clumps are fine. I press it out on foil into a circle, about 10 inches in diameter, & put on a preheated stone at 400, 4 laps around my block (1/2 mile circle) & they were done, about 30 minutes or so.
Serve with a hot cup of coffee & breakfast is served (bill, if you are out there, the crema is courtesy Bucks County Coffee Co.):

Your platesetter looks different than mine and most that I've seen. It appears to have openings near the legs. Is it different tat ones currently available?

I think that was just a wierd angle picture, it is the standard setter, feet & stone setup:
