Atomic Buffalo Turds
Smokin Kansas
Posts: 10
Hey all! I am going to have a bit of a party here this weekend and would like to try to make some Atomic Buffalo Turds. I read the recipe here a while back, but darned if I can find it. I think they would go well with a nice big smoked butt. Does anyone happen to have it. Thanks in advance!

You can do them many different ways. Here's one of my favorites so far Stuff the jalepenos with cream cheese, then add a little(beef)smokey.I like Dizzy Dust or Swamp Venom, butt you can use your favorite rub.I also like thick cut bacon for these,I cook them indirect at 325-350 for about(till they're done)an hour.

I make mine with cream cheese mixed with leftover pork butt stuff into seeded/deveined jalepenos (use gloves) and wrap in applewood bacon... is really easy. I cooked indirect at 350 until the bacon looked done as shown below... mmmmmm
Would also look at the recipes section as already mentioned. -
or in some cases a little longer than an hour

I just figured out the problem.I used thin bacon. That's my story and I'm stickin to it I'll figure it out someday

Hey, those didn't have as much of a tan as I've seen.

Stuff with cream cheese and pulled pork, then wrap whole!

Yea Todd,I'm not sure that I know what you are speaking of I've never, ever, ever overcooked an ABT(well, maybe one time)but no one can prove it

Here are some TEXAS style. Cute rack huh?

You can slice the peppers in half or use a paring knife and cut done from the top to get all the seeds and veins out. Leave some of the white veins in jalapeños if you want them hot. The picture I posted was of the peppers with the seeds removed from the top. It's a little harder but the cheese doesn't run out of the peppers if you are using a rack.

Wear gloves when cleaning...
I stuff mine with softened cream cheese mixed with Paul Newman (RIP) mango or pineapple salsa. I add a little smokey weiner or leftover pulled pork and wrap in maple bacon...yummy... :silly: -
