Two eight pound butts went on at 7pm Eastern. I have 18 beers, half a handle of Jack, a drinkin' buddy, and the day off tomorrow. I bought a probe thermometer today with a wireless receiver. Working great. I have the BGE tuned in at 225 and my neighbor accross the canal has already called requesting a sandwich. My backyard smells awesome right now!!!!! More updates later.
Meat is currently at 110 degs at 2 hours.

18 beers times 16 pounds of butt, carry the 7pm, plus one thermometer divided by one drinking buddy equals you are gonna pass out before that puppy is donehappy in the hut

Thanks!
I have been looking for that formula for a long time. Does it change if you buddy is the opposite sex (maybe a friend with "privileges")? -

Even if I sleep 'till 11 I am still OK time wise. (I'm searching for excuses already.)

1:05am meat holding at 165 degs. Egg pinned at 225. I have had this thing since April and I am still impressed everytime I cook on it. I have never had a grill that holds temp like this.
I can't believe USC lost to Org ST!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I need the Gators to beat Ole Miss so we can move up. Look out agian Dawgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
1:51am going to bed. Pork temp around 168degs Egg still holding steady at 225. I hope this works out! Update when I wake-up. The wireless receiver is on my night stand.

That is right about where I went wrong. About 3 am, meat in the mid 160's, temp holding pretty steady. You do have the advantage of a wireless receiver though. Goodluck.

7:41am and am ahppy to say I have not screwed this up ..........yet. Egg temp has fallen to just above 200 degs so I had to open up the dampers a little. The pork is at 183 degs and climbing. I hope to have this baby ready to go by 11am. Wish me luck!!!!

Congratulations, sounds like a success. Maybe bump that thing up a little higher than 225 for an 11am finish, if you come in early you can always wrap/cooler ithappy in the hut
