Ok ~ So here is the scenario...
put 7.76 lb butt on at 9:45 p.m. ~ 250 dome
11 p.m. ~ 270 dome
4 a.m. 210 dome ~ brought up to 240 ~ used wiggle rod to aeriate
then i wake up 8 a.m. and dome at 160 internal of 140. when i opened the lid...my fire was basically done...mostly ash, so I pulled the butt off put it in the metal box in the kitchen at 240 ... and need your advice...I have a medium egg and can the fire box just not handle the long cooks? I used the BGE lump coal...packed it in like I have read about...I am at a loss....
Anyway - Should I just finish off the time in the metal box or rebuild a fire? If it stays in the kitchen, should I cover it? Please help.
