I just picked up my Large BGE tonight from AZ Scott. You all have been very patient with me and my “Things to do while waiting for your Big Green Egg”.
I will unpack and assemble tomorrow, as it is late. I’m thinking of removing the gasket and refastening with 3M 77 right from the “Get Go”. I got my large with nest, new type mates, plate setter, cover, CI grill, bake stone and ash tool. AZ Scott also gave me a bag of Royal Oak to try.
I cannot say enough good about Scott, he is an true gentleman. I am looking forward to working with him on our first Phoenix EggFest in November.

Your mini had some major action this summer.... I wish I could have done that white water trip you did if I remember correctly :woohoo:
I am curious about your screen name Wanabe... maybe you should change it to NotaWanabe if it has to do with owning an egg :silly: otherwise ignore my remaks as it may have another meaning
Happy Egging, Pharmeggist
Do a couple of low temp cooks on the Large egg to get the gasket broken in

Danny, it was great to meet you and your wife this afternoon. I can't wait to see the inaugural lighting of the egg. Are you still thinking tri tip?
-
Congratulations, you have been waiting some time. You are going to love the large.
I understand your thinking, but I hate the idea of you taking a new gasket off just to put it back on again.
Can't advise for or against.
Have fun.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
My 2 cents
I would wait until the new gasket burns up or falls off, then go with a nomax -
Glad to hear it Danny :woohoo: I am also looking forward to seeing your first large cook :woohoo:
