DigiQ Temp. Probe Placement

Where do most of you clip your DigiQ temperature probe...on the dome thermometer or the grill? When a temperature is not specified grill or dome I would assume it is a dome temp....correct?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

If a temp is stated and no reference than that is dome temperature.
Probe placement can be made on the end of the dome thermometer or on the grid. If at all possible I use grid temp. Others only use dome probe placement.
If you use grate temp make sure your probe is far enough away from the meat so the meat is not affecting the probe read.
The Guru site has some pictures about placement.

I clip mine to the end of the thermo probe. Temps referred to are almost always dome temp.

I clip to the dome thermometer stem. Easy to do and keeps wires out of the food better. Time and temps are approx on any recipe for the most part. They get you in the ball park and cliping to stem will do the same.

Thanks for your responses. When you clip to stem of the thermometer do you find that your DiqiQ and dome temps. are pretty close?

Yeah, pretty close...

For the first 30 min or so there will be 10 to 20 degree differance till everything stablizes then they will be with in 5 degrees of each other.
