Anyone know where I can buy and Ash Bucket?
I heard that there is a Metal bucket with a perferated internal part so you can just shake off the ash and reuse the rest.
Anyone know of this or have a website to purchase one?>

Am I missing something?
Doesnt the grate perform the sorting function?
Doesnt everything that falls through the grate = trash?
I use a plastic 5 gallon bucket to rake the ash into, then shop vac the rest. I leave any lump that is larger than the grate holes, in the fire box to burn another day.

Not to take business from bbq guru, I have a ton of respect for him and his crew, but with my budget I have made something similar. You can take container that will keep water out and purchase a smaller wire trashcan or basket that will sit inside it. I think I spent 10-15 dollars all together on a very similar contraption.

Nothing wrong with the way you do it Ron, you can save a little bit of charcoal that was small enough or somehow otherwise ends up below the grate in the bottom of the egg. Then shake out the ash and throw some of the charcoal on top of your filled fire box. I probably save 1 or 2 lbs every month doing this.

I don't sift my ashes either, but I do hate the dust in the bag. So I sift that. I imagine you could use that for ashes.
