beer can chicken - fetal pig smell?

Hi - I am not the Iowa State Egger, I am his wife. But he refused to post this question, so i logged on as him and am taking the reigns! So - my question is: Does anyone know how to get rid of the "smell" when cooking a beer can chicken? I tend to think that it smells like a fetal pig dated back to my high school biology classes. Granted, I am preganant, so i know i have a heightened sense of smell, but my husband even smelled it the first time. I am a HUGE fan of the BGE and chicken and i can't even eat the beer can chicken due to the smell. Anyone experience the same thing or know how to get rid of the smell?

Thanks -
Iowa State Egger's wife
