Can I use any cheese for ABTs?

We love the ABT's, but my wife doesn't like cream cheese. Could I use mozzarella or provolne and still come out good? Or does it need a more creamy cheese like cream cheese?

You can use any cheese. I've used pepperjack, mexican blend, and cheddar.

I prefer cream cheese, but they will all work.

I usually use ground beef, so I think I'll try a Mexican blend.

Found some GIANT jalapeno's, biggest I've ever seen. Gonna stuff them like green peppers instead of splitting them in half.

I hate cream cheese also. Will not touch the stuff. I use munster myself but this time used swiss.

I enjoy this version (sans bacon). Roasted & peeled poblanos filled with cream cheese (with onions & chives) and a Mexican cheese blend.

One of our favaorites is leftover cheese grits (the grits usually have sharp cheddar in them) as a stuffing for ABT's. put a piece of ham or pulled pork on top of the grits and wrap in bacon...these make a great bkfast snack...yummy...

I like the way you cut those for stuffing, JL. Using a harder cheese with the peppers cut in half is a pain...this looks like it would make it easy, tho'
