OK, you've got 'em halved and topped with evoo, garlic, basil, s&p. Now into a hot (400°?) oven until they start to wilt. Is this when the bread crumbs & mozzarella go on (in that order)? Mucho thanx for any help! I had the recipe but lost it during a bad night... 8 - )

I would place them on aluminum foil to make clean-up easier and about 5-10 minutes before the finish I would put the cheese on then the bread crumbs ot top. Careful not to burn. Might spray the bread with pam or something to brown. Panko works great in this environment. Got a tomato/onion pie cooking as we speak.
