I'm looking for a good pork butt injection, any ideas out there?

Why??? :blink: Pork butt is one of the most flavorful cooks you can do why ruin it with an injection...just my 2 cents....

when i do it i just use a south carolina vinegar sauce, sometimes mixing in some apple juice. i inject while its cooking in the egg when the internals are atleast 165 on the pork butt, doesnt mess the kitchen up and accomplishes the same thing. the sauce can be found in elder wards 4 part tutorial in the naked whiz's site.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I have to agree with you, when I judged a KCBS event, I didn't care for any of the injected pork. -RP

You have a great point there, everytime I screwed up a butt, I injected. Now do you put on any rub after the pork is pulled?

You can put on more rub, but most of the time I find that I'm able to scatter the bark throughout the rest of the meat and that is sufficient.
Also a big no on injections for pork butt.

Put the rub on first...coat in mustard if you like cook at 250 degrees at the dome until it is 195 internal. Pull double wrap in HD aluminum foil.. double wrap in towels and put in cooler for 2 hours....mmmmmm :silly:
