  • Probably too late to help now but you can put a couple of foil wrapped hot bricks in the cooler. This will help hold heat for a while longer. Someone suggested this to me a while ago when I had to hold a pulled pork for 6 hours. I left the probe in and taped the rest of the thermometer to the top of the cooler. It went in at 200 and was still at 160 6 hours later.

    Hope it went well.

I don't like farting around with coolers.

When I want to hold any cook, I wrap in foil, then wrap in a blanket. I have kept ribbs 'hot' for 4 full hours.

I went to walmart and picked up some fleece material. Enough to make my 'food blanket'. If you really want more insulation there is a large insulated bag made especially for keeping food warm (or cool). I put my food wrapped in the blanket inside that warmer bag.

I think the bags are like 2 or 3 bucks and are large. I bought 2 bags but have never had a need to use them. I just leave the blanket on the counter or put it in the car when traveling.

    The blanket works great.

The cooler and towels or cooler and news paper works and by far the majority of the folk here use the cooler.
