Great food by your own little oasis! Beautiful place!

The shots look great and you better start posting more pictures. That Boxer on the right hand side of the shot reminds me of my daughters Boxer. She is a real food slut and by the looks of your dog that hunk of meat does not have a snow balls chance in a frying pan of getting out of the way of those choppers that make food vanish. Her dog has the hots for bread products.A bag of ten burger rolls will vanish in the time it takes to turn over some chicken on the Egg.

Those were nice hunks of beef there (assuming they only lasted a few minutes on the plate
While it seems wasteful sometimes, "Frenching" the bone can make a really fantastic presentation for that cut... & lamb chops, pork chops, .... ok getting hungry again. -
Nice pictures!
What camera did you get?

Hey! That dinner looks pretty familiar
Nice job on the steaks, and I'm wondering where you got your thermostat with the white needle--mine's red. I'd have a tough time with that one, since I'm usually looking out the window for the temps to come up/go down.
What camera did you go with? My sister-in-law has a boxer like yours, but the tail was shortened a bit, kinda like they do on dobermans.
Take care! -
Camera does great. Food looks even better! Love old dogs. There the best. How old the girl on the left?

Beautiful steaks and photos. What kind of camera did you use?

Thanks, I just picked up a Canon A590 on sale at CC for $154.00. Not too fancy, but not too entry level. Easy to use, but still trying to figure out how to use the different exposures and what not.

Thanks. I picked up the Canon Sure shot 590 at CC on sale. Pretty good camera for the price.

We rescued both my babies from the boxer rescue, so we don't know their exact age. We're guessing Hannah's around ten and Kodak is about seven or eight. I'll tell you one thing though, people say dogs start to slow down as they get older...not true with these two.

Thanks. The needle was faded from being in the sun...and yes, I do have a hard time looking at the temeperature from inside the house. But when I'm doing the long cooks, no need to worry because of the Guru.
Generally, boxers get their tails clipped too. My two monsters have their's clipped, but not their ears. If I remember correctly, they do it when they are a couple days old. If they don't clip the tails, they will grow very long and can become very painful if broken. When a boxer gets excited, they really get their little butts wigglin' and become "bulls in a china shop". Almost out of control...very amusing to watch. -
Thanks. I got the Canon a590. Good little camera. Not a professional, but my last camera crapped out on me and decided to get a new one. BTW...those ribeyes were on sale at Safeway for $5.49/lb. Not the biggest fan of Safeway meats, but had to picked them up. Not too bad. I also bought it in a roast as well to put in the freezer for that "special occasion".

"Frenching"? Never heard of it. Could you explain or direct me on how to do it...always like to try something different.
-
Food slut. That's a good one. Yes, indeed these two are food whores. That's why I usually get a lrger than life piece of meat, so i can share with the doggies. These two are not shy about eating anything...I mean anything.

Thanks. It is kinda nice to go in the backyard and enjoy what God has given us...and of course what the mothership had given us too.

It's just a method of scraping the fat & small amount of meat off of the end of the bone before cooking. After you are done grilling the cut, you get a nice looking "handle" with the meat attached.
