Did these yesterday for part of our supper. All I put on them was EVOO, salt and pepper.
The finished product with crisp bacon. We liked them.

Beautiful looking cook. What temp did you cook and direct or indirect.

Those look good! Sam's Club here I come!

Man, are those scallops as large as thy look? I bought some at Costco or BJs a couple of months ago, and had to soak all the nasty smell out of them before cooking. Where do you shop for those? They really look great.

I bought these at a place called Fresh Market. They are #10 size...which probably means 10 to a pound. The ones they sell at Sams are the same size...I saw them a half hour after I bought these.
I cook these direct at about 300*. -
How long?
-
I cooked them around 20 to 25 minutes. I jacked the heat up to 400 for the last 3 minutes to get the bacon more crisp.

Some scallop tips:
[ol]buy only "dry" scallops
keep scallops as dry as possible (don't rinse)
use high heat
cook as briefly as possible[/ol]
Following these hints and you'll have marshmallows instead of door bumpers.

How about a recipe? Prep, Egg set up, time, temp, etc.
I've not cooked scallops before, but am starting to collect tips and info.
Thanks -
I'd go with a griddle heated up to about 500.... Season to taste, some of the Dizzy Pig rubs, applied sparingly would be a good start. I like salt and white pepper.
Very thin coat of oil on the griddle. On the first side, go for color and appearance, about 2 minutes without disturbing them. Turn, and cook another 90 seconds or so, till desired doneness. I cook by color, and the size of the scallops will vary the times.
