Hey Mike -

I am heading up to KC for a week next Wednesday so the kids can annoy my folks for a week before school starts.

My Mom's car is dirty so I may need to take it out for a wash one day around lunch time.

Any recommendations?

And I am going to buy 2-3 cases of Blues Hog if I can find it. Where do you purchase it locally?

  • Fidel,

Your post for CWM is WAY to early in the morning. About this time, if he's up, he can be found at one of his pull-through stalls using the power washer on himself. Any time a passer by hollers, "What the hell are you doing?" Mike responds with, "It doesn't suck!"

    lol...that was an image I didn't need!

Which Blues Hog do you use?

Doesn't Seem necessary to ask if you like it.

    I use the regular.

I am only buying in bulk since I hear they sell it in grocery stores in the KC area.

Fidel, I buy the gallon container. It is anywhere from $18-24 depending where you get it at. Pours much easier then the jar and it's not breakable.

    just my 2 cents

I think Jack Stack in Martin City. Let me know what you want. The store next to me is the cheapest in town.

Mike, where are these car washes I keep hearing about? My wife seems to clean her car twice a week. And where do you buy your Blues Hog?

Belton and Greenwood. Maybe kind of far, but we could talk shop while she washes. :woohoo: They are 6 SS bays and 2 automatics.
Blues Hog at the Hy Vee in Belton. They usually give me a pretty decent discount on case orders.

  • Smoke and Fire at 8030 W 151ST in Overland Park carries the gallon containers. Huge selection of rub and sauces as well. The Kansas City BBQ Store at 11946 South Strang Line Road, Olathe, KS also sells it. They are my favorite because they also sell BGE's and are next door to Oklahoma Joe's BBQ which I feel is the best. Should be buying my Egg in the next few days.

I'll have to try out Smoke and Fire...haven't been there. I purchased my XL at the KC BBQ Store. I got everything there all at once and they made me a pretty good deal. They won my business.

Oklahoma Joe's is in my opinion the only place to go in KC for casual BBQ. One day my boss and I went to the Olathe OKJ for drinks and appetizers and then finished with dinner at the OKJ on 47th.

A shame that there are so many average and below average BBQ joints in a place like KC.

You're pretty far from me...I'm in Johnson County, KS side. I'm going to check out my local HyVee to see what they have. Usually we end up at Price Chopper. Thanks for the tip!
