Apple Pie Pizza

Had five apples and a Mama Mary's pizza shell in the fridge today. May as well put something together.

Here is how it was put together

Apple pie pizza
5 apples
3/4 cup fine sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Bake apples at 350 for plus or minus an hour

Peel, core, and slice apples. Mix apple slices with sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Place apple mixture on pizza shell.

Place strips from three thin slices of sharp cheddar cheese on pizza

Cover with crumpled topping

Crumpled Topping:

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
Dash salt
1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature

Combine the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Using a fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over top of pizza.

Indirect at 550 until it’s done

A scoop of vanilla ice cream would have been right at home on each slice, B)

What type apples? Did you bake the apples in the egg or in the oven. Will definitely have to try if I can find that mama mary's crust.
  • Any crust should work. Mama Mary's is just too easy and is handled by our local grocery store. It's incredible to me but the apples are from New Zealand. I gave a fruit of the month gift from Harry and David's to my bride for Christmas and that was the fruit of the month.
  • Love cheese on apple pie and bet that was some good pie. Good job Frank!

That looks Awesome!! How'd your wife feel about you tampering with her apples?
  •  She's not here. Returning tomorrow night. I'll meet her at the airport with a slice.
