Took my little feathered friend to the animal rescue people and they turned out to be a couple who have given up a good part of their home and garage to this service. All kinds of birds being cared for including many owls, ducks, wood peckers and other species native to the area. Also some 4-legged critters like 'coons, rabbits & turtles. I got quite a guided tour and while leaving I promised them a donation. BTW, the one I bought in turned out to be a mockingbird; my favorite song bird! Here's a better picture:
